Ummati Relief Foundation has introduced a range of initiatives aimed at supporting charitable endeavors. URF will take an active role in organizing various events that encourage community involvement and raise funds for deserving projects.
The Birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Mecca in the year 570 AD according to the Gregorian calendar. While the precise date of his birth remains uncertain, it is commemorated on the 12th of Rabi’ Al-Awwal. This celebration is commonly known as Mawlid or Milad, a term derived from the Arabic word meaning “to give birth,” which has come to represent the Prophet’s (PBUH) birth.
Mawlid is recognized as a public holiday in most Islamic nations, with the exceptions of Qatar and Saudi Arabia. On this occasion, it is customary to adorn homes and mosques, participate in street processions, and share narratives about the Prophet (PBUH) through songs and poetry.
Care for Orphans with Ummati Relief Foundation
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entered this world without parents, and one of his teachings emphasizes the importance of caring for orphaned children.
The Sunnah of the esteemed Prophet (PBUH) provides a wealth of valuable and uplifting teachings that we can adopt and implement throughout the year. A notable example is the emphasis on caring for orphans, which is a profoundly rewarding practice, especially considering that the Prophet (PBUH) himself experienced life as an orphan.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ blessed the guardian and sponsor of an orphan with Paradise, saying: “I and the one who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like these two” – and he gestured with his forefinger and middle finger, holding them close together.’’ (Bukhari)
To truly honor and express our love for the Messenger (PBUH), we should contribute to the causes that he (PBUH) cherished the most.
Please consider donating to our Rabi’ Al-Awwal appeal today.
As-salamu alaikum,
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
