Our story began with a single, powerful act of restoration. In 2019, moved by a volunteer trip, our founders returned from Kenya with a conviction to serve. This led to the formation of the Ummati Relief Foundation, and our very first project defined our mission: we installed electricity and donated speakers to a mosque in Limuru, Kenya, enabling the call to prayer (Adhaan) to be heard clearly for the first time in over 50 years.
That moment of a community hearing the Adhaan (Call to Prayer) together after generations that crystallized our purpose. It was a profound lesson in honoring Amanah (stewardship) by reviving a spiritual cornerstone and an act of deep Rahma (compassion). We saw that true aid strengthens the heart, dignifies life, and empowers from within.
From that foundational project in Limuru, our mission expanded. Guided by the same principles, we turned our focus to the most vulnerable within such communities: orphans and widows. We began building sustainable futures through education and holistic support, ensuring our work creates lasting hope.
Today, we stand as a beacon of hope, uniting donors, volunteers, who bring a wealth of experience from nearly a decade of work in the charity sector, and communities worldwide to create lasting change. Every meal distributed, every wheelchair that grants independence, every cataract surgery that restores vision, every orphan sponsored, and every well built carries forward the same founding spirit: that service to humanity is our collective responsibility.
Our journey is just beginning, but our path is clear. From restoring a community’s voice in Limuru to empowering futures across the globe, we are building an organisation where faith, compassion, and action meet. We invite you to join us in writing the next chapter
